Today Planned app icon Today Planned

FAQ

What does Today Planned do?

It turns calendar events into real alarms, so meetings, calls, and appointments are much harder to miss than with standard calendar notifications. It is built for people who want more confidence than a quiet alert banner can offer.

Will I have to manage my alarms every day?

Today Planned can refresh alarms automatically in the foreground and in the background, so it is built to stay current without extra daily work from you. If you want even more control, you can also use a Shortcuts automation to trigger a refresh at a specific time each day. For most people, setup is choosing the calendars and rules they want once, then letting the app keep things current.

What happens if my schedule changes after alarms are set?

Today Planned is built to notice schedule changes and reflect them through the app, widgets, and Live Activity so your alarms stay aligned with your real day. If something changed recently and you want to confirm it immediately, opening the app refreshes everything right away.

Which calendars can I use?

Today Planned works with the calendars iOS makes available on your device. That means it fits naturally into the calendar setup you already use, but if a work or shared account does not appear in Apple’s Calendar system, Today Planned cannot read it either.

Can I choose only some calendars and accounts?

Yes. You can decide exactly which calendars Today Planned should pay attention to, so work, personal, family, and shared accounts do not all have to turn into alarms at once.

Can I filter which events turn into alarms?

Yes. Filters let you include or skip events by calendar, title, and other rules, so only the events that actually matter to you become alarms. That is one of the biggest reasons people stick with Today Planned: it helps them alarm the right things instead of everything, avoid alarm fatigue, and keep the app useful every day.

Can I include just one event without changing all my filters?

Yes. You can add a one-off alarm to a specific future event without changing the rest of your setup, which makes it easy to handle exceptions without breaking your everyday rules.

Why not just use regular calendar alerts?

Regular calendar alerts are easy to miss and they treat every event the same. Today Planned helps you decide which events deserve a real alarm and keeps those alarms current, so the important things stay harder to miss throughout the day.

Does it work with Apple Watch?

Yes. Today Planned is designed for iPhone and Apple Watch, so alarms and your upcoming schedule can stay visible across both. That makes it easier to keep your day in view even when your phone is not in your hand.

Can I use widgets or Live Activities?

Yes. Up Next can stay visible on your Home Screen, Lock Screen, widgets, or Live Activity so you always know what is coming next without reopening the app over and over.

Why are some calendars or events missing?

When a calendar is available in Apple’s Calendar system, Today Planned can work with it. If something is missing, it is usually either an iOS sync limitation or a calendar or filter setting you can adjust inside the app.
